The Fog and I

we’ll try this again…an unfamiliar pc with a touchy keyboard…my own tablet pc has a hardware/softfware conflict here in the states…screw it…the immediate bout of culture shock has somewhat faded, thanks to a couple of days in the hills of Mill Valley and a night on the upper reaches of Richardson Bay…a few seagulls, a heron or two and a pelican will do it every time…the Saturday night event of HotRods’n Lube jobs? fairly tame by San Francisco standards(yes, i shot photos)…some bondage, pole dancing, strippers…nudity…we left early, bored…’seen better in El Salvador and Costa Rica….
I’m back in San Francisco, in the upper reaches of Noe Valley where the wind and the fog blow constantly….freezing my ass off, needless to say…out tonight and a descent into the Mission District for some kick-ass mexican food and an ambience of latino culture…I miss it, frankly…Antigua is home and San Francisco not…Sausalito was sweet and charming and I got to see old friends from houseboat days…a birthday party, hugs and kisses at the No Name Bar..but I’d rather be walking down 5ta or up 4th Avenida to my home…which i suspect will be next week…the glacial pace of the VA is typical and i doubt whether anything other than paperwork or a few tests tomorrow will get accomplished before the 30th…my outbound/return flight to Guatemala…there isn’t enough time to see all the friends whom I’d wanted to see..sorry about that…maybe next time whenever that is…if at all..I’m homesick…and it’ll be good to see familiar faces in familiar places..
