or mierda sagrada, ´finally back and off the 13 hours of bus hell….fanbelt break on the mighty Tica Bus, somewhere in the Nicaragua countryside…fixed…`couple hours of border screw-ups at the Nica/Hondo border, then more at the Hondo/El Sal lines….always some folks with dodg passports, wierd luggage and the custom agents are bored….staggered into San Salvador two hours later than planned but the welcome at the Meson Maria was warm…Room 9 awaited, as did the two margaritas and fajitas half a block away at the El Zocalo…this is `down day` per the traveling companion´s need for rest and some recharging..plus he gets to squeeze all of the ladies working here as many time as they let him….god, will I be like this at his age? so….retrospect…Managua is a pit..most of it, except for the many new buildings, malls, etc that Danny has encouraged, if not participated in….the Ticabus terminal/hotel is in a very sleazy part of town…avoid it, if possible…yes, I took the sword cane but never had to whip it out..the old guy´s on two canes, which makes him a visible target…San Juan Del Sur is a surf camp/tourist center…and the beach is gorgeous…made me wish I`d brought swim wear…Leon? off the radar screen and worth a couple of days, but its hard to get to…unless you pop for $80 or so for a taxi….and more leaving…Granada? packed with tourists…word is that because of Guatemalas bad press, etc…who`s to blame? whatever…I learned that the word àventura“ has different meanings than the word adventure…might have offended a lady…so what else is new, you wonder? home to Antigua tomorrow, Sunday, god, the bus and the border patrols willing..
