So, Deliciosa’s gone, Mayan Moon has faded and I’m hearing some nervous talk about cash-flow here and there: Le Escape the very short-lived motorcycle themed bar on 4th…hasta la vista, same-o same-o for the King’s Head, further out..will Chef Pierre defy this pattern? dunno…’haven’t passed there recently…’gotta hunch there’s gonna be some more vacancies in a month or so…’heard a rumor about the lack of “Sanitation Licenses” and the possible come-back of the dreaded Liquor Law regs..a well-connected source but….well, this is an election year for Adolfo…flip a coin…if there’s not a serious influx of bucks in the next month or so(turista $$)besides the cristianos/back-packers, both say we say ‘tight-fisted’…or cheap…the cruise ship groups don’t cut it, given their usual $20 a day spending habits here(helllooo La Reunion, with THAT marketing plan)..bet on Burger King, McD and Polio Campero: Lava will be just fine, given their location/concept…Sobremesa’s ice creamery will float along. el Gato Negro with their capture of that market…no problems..
