O-lot reporting a record take last night….this evening there were more single ladies than men…Ixnay, those rats on a sinking ship strong-arming incoming customers, blocking access to the rest of the tenants…Jason, reportedly in town after a side trip to a town called Tijuana(nope, no details here..ask him)…P’gea, minus the father/son partners trying everything they can think of..
Alejandra, ‘bachelorerette’ of the night at the cafe across from Aylin, the one with the ‘for rent’ sign…guess her age and win a teddy bear…dos Reilly’s? packed, SRO, jammin’…Mitos? a crowd! lights, smoke machine and people…who woulda guessed? La Esquina? Eduardos in love and has a new bartender…same-o same-o…good for him/her…with the departure of Lou, he’s been drifting…

Angie’s music tonight, Saraguate just fine…nice crowd…Lou/friend there: Angie and i taking dueling photos of each other…flash! Peter the G’s El Caminante rocking again…packed…to the sidewalk,tattoos, music and folks doing the ‘twist and shout’…el Muro? Max and John plotting their next PR campaign…love their bartender!

there’s just somethin’ about red satin…well, it works for me…Bistro Cinq?…almost turning into Bistro Sank but tomorrow they’re trying a new tack…brunch 12-5, 70q with unlimited mimosas, champagne and sangria..’might be enough to sperm…no, spur some of us into action…’heard what happened to Mayan Moon, that short-lived experiment on 4t ave/1st calle..landlord tripled the rent while they weren’t in contract…dipshit..MM has relocated in Joco, supposedly…Karla H! looking even more superb than usual, now working at Abassi, the indian joint on 4th calle…Nelson playing their tonight but no word on the choice of music: ‘as my sitar gently weeps?…indian love call? delhi belly?…go figure..it’s a job. Ask Carlo of O’lot how to play the ‘find the BIC game without hands” as usual, Piano Mike and Moriah packing Caffe Bourbon, with folks on the street watching: amazing how what a simple change has done for that place…Cimino’s on the square? ‘gone the neon sign route, with 2/1 and ladie’s night specials..kinda like the Nokiate attempt to jump on the burger wagon: would you eat a Nokiate burger? Chef Pierre’s on 7th calle? dead-zo…Como Como doing tables and the Mediterranean Cafe next door? closed on a Saturday night? probably taking courses in horse-whipping…Injah Fred on horse-back with a student galloping around the park this morning…no word on the status of the Salty Beav’…hmmm..Sangre? trying the loud music trick…no takers..Studio 35? doing biz..Fridas sucking up a dinner crowd..A Bell’s Fusion doing just fine, even Tartines…Ricardo’s Tabacos y Vinos? night after night a crowd of sippers…smokers…it occurs to me that the no smoking laws enacted a while back took their toll on many a business per the customers going to the street to light up…Riki’s(might be behind on rent), Cashbar, Gaia and so on…a few joints are letting the law go by the by…i have a better idea,if they, the powers that be, are interested in cleaning up this party town…ban the open containers seen here, there and everywhere, as in the groups of men on 5ta..sucking down Gallo and walking around. Unless, of course, if Gallo has some locals in their pocket…and bring in some porta-potties for the after effects and more trash cans…part two of the bus trip from hell tomorrow..Tak-alik Ab’aj on my top three list for Maya sites..mind-blowing,memorable and then some…thank you, John Mellon of Epicure for sharing experiences this morning..’got me thinkin’…woo woo stuff,it was..
