if these days aren’t the most perfect we’ve seen in a long long time, sue me: the crisp mornings until the sun comes up over the mountain…about the only gripe i can think of is the air quality..just a bit hazy here and there or maybe that’s just my sunglasses needing cleaning.
where’s the Mime? Where’s Mr Dori, the magician? How come Paco and the Latino Sol group aren’t playing Sundays in the park anymore? Fred Heywood of Ravenscroft Stables didn’t show today and I worry about him a bit…not only is he 83 but the riding biz isn’t exactly gangbusters these days.
‘saw a guy in a full-on polo outfit yesterday, walking thru the park…then was told that, yes..there’s polo games nearby…well, hell…gotta go for a chukker or two…India was good for that kinda early morning stuff…Pebble Beach just a bit too too much.
No news from Roatan of the Wilbur saga…Max says its slowly moving forweird, one lurch at a time…
A-towns having Christmas sales, on just about anything that can be marked down and that new little coffee shop, La Casaca? you know, they’re doin’ biz…’think it’s the lighting/decor but whoda thunk that another coffee shop would make a dent? that new store at the other end, by where the old gelato shop used to be? when they hang their sign out in the mornings, go by and have a look at a fabulous moonstone.
the very sweet Dona Gavi, in response to a gift of a ruby specimen this morning…two bars of soap..one goat’s milk based, the other herbal something or other…with the clear plastic wrapping they kinda look like two ounce chunks of Lebanese hash (no, i didn’t say that)
Da Mayor, doing something at Da Monica’s on upper 4th this morning…breakfast? he’s got the job so politics ain’t necessary…Ocelot’s experimenting with Spiro’s Ceviche on the weekends…i’ve seen it and it looks good…nope, i don’t ‘do’ ceviche, having seen one two many folks go wierd with it(sick) but his variety I’d be tempted to try..Helados Exoticos announcing two more flavors of ice cream…gingerbread and a apple cider/scotch flavor..which brings up the total count of varieties to somewhere between 40 and 50..
and that’s it…Ignacio our Cuban musician, grumbling early about his equipment being unavailable…the drums etc..he was dressed to play..’dude’s been married seven times? hey, that’s what he says and who’d lie about that?
