from the size of the crowds downtown, Secretary’s Day is/was taken seriously….flocks of girls who looked like secretaries….is that a word? lining up early at the Casbah, etc…if they play their cards right, it could be the Night of the Secretary….
our mime, Andy, miming to crowds in the Park early……tasty Capitalinas strolling and looking their City best…what was that old Eagles refrain, ‘some girls know how to open a door with just a smile?’
our local ‘bar goddess’, seen with a local bar owner…wanna bet that she has a new job?
and I missed the “Chicken Dance’ at Frank’s Farm today…folks on their knees in the dirt and then dancing in a circle, holding hands. No word on the chicken, other than its probable fate as dinner later.
the wandering Pat Farrell, back in town for a day, a week or whatever..gracing the bar at Ocelot, where full-on pandemonium was cranking up early…the patio was SRO, with a few folks who won’t be here in a week or so…soaking up…ooops, wrong phrase…last year’s question of ‘how many here have ever been in jail?’ was answered with an 75% or greater response rate…’unusual suspects?’…yep.
El Shaman is definitely dead..sign gone and another hostel up for sale but its a complicated kind of deal: your typical Antigua real estate transaction…”shhhh…don’t tell anyone.”
progress on the finca…
