but it’s off, so that’s okay. I was wrong about Piano Mike’s imminent departure…not this weekend but next month (sometime…he told me but you know…)he, Nelson and Dr J have been doing their musician-stuff, staying all night, roaming the calles.
Karla H, once part of one of those folks, is in Australia (don’t ask), Catherine Docter in town, gracing Antigua with her presence for a ‘couple of weeks’.
Per that ol info tube, FaceBook, it would appear that the new partner in the Gastro Pub has some serious plans/experience in the pub business and no, I haven’t eaten yet at the ‘new’ Hector’s…was told that the same crew has been there for six months, so I guess you could say that they’re ‘Hector-trained.’ Anyone ever eat at that Peruvian joint, on south 4th avenida? Everytime I walk by, I think of guinea pigs.
It’s nice to see some buildings unveiled/unwrapped by the vertical sheets of green corrugated metal that have sealed them from prying eyes for so long…like the one on the corner of 3rd calle/4th ave…looks very spiffy inside.. What’s it gonna be? too central for a residence, I think (so to speak) and the other on 6th ave/2nd calle. and yes, Travel Menu’s famous old candle (kind of like Dona Gavi’s) got knocked over/broken…plans are to build some kind of multi-purpose shrine, per Jerome. Speaking of shrines, here’s a little ditty on the one at Frank’s Farm.

yeah, I finally figured out how to insert photos into the manuscript of the ‘Year of Driving Dangerously”…..much better, with photos…now to censor them…black balloons over some faces?
more later, probably tonight…gotta go censor some photos and yes, the visually xlnt Marbel is still working at Il Leone, the pizza/coffee hole in the wall between La Casaca and the other coffee place. She’s ‘got it’ about making a decent sized espresso: I popped in yesterday and their was a well-nourished family of three having breakfast pizza…cinnamon rolls i could see, but pizza? warmed over/re-heated?
