so, the perfect weekend comes to a slow close…Antigua is packed with tourists of all stripe, kinds and nationalities..the stree people are working, the Mayan ladies are pushing their wares and the weather? perfecto! some days, a little rain in the evening,just enough.
tis good to see that Joe Collin’s creation, From Houses to Homes, is going strong. After he left us last year, one(me)wondered if his spirit would continue the mission…answer? yes! this week, at least one or two caravans of 5 to 6 pick up loads of volunteers headed up/moved out…all of the NGO’s around here, his is one of my favorites.Joe Collins lives!

and no, the planned excursion to Zacapa and beyond is on hold for a few days…the car/driver that I had ‘chartered’ had an accident…he’s in the hospital and the car is…?maybe next Friday, per the captain…80% chance he told me..
and again, still, that section of 5th/5th is taken over by Las Vibras, the Travel Menu/Snug and Pappy’s BBQ..Ocelot/Lava snagging the chapin business and Micho’s? on a Wednesday night, the back dining are was packed…Dr J played one gig at No Se this week…no word on further dates, but in the mean time, the music scene is Travel Menu or Ocelot..and, if you’re in need of a quick weight loss, try the potato fries at Pollo Compero…I had a side dish, with a sausage/egg muffin this week and in two hours..bingo! it was embarrassing, frankly but I had an excuse to buy a new pair of boots (done’t ask)
