and its beginning to smell a lot like Christmas….can Satan, no, Santa be drawing near? Satan, more likely here. And two familiar faces returned town this week: Hogan, minus his luggage and a day late, Cindy C and I don’t know who else, except that the usual bench in the park for the AL crew is attracting a few more weird people (and weirder than usual).
and yes, even more restaurants are sprouting: Habbibi, who looks like an Arabic kinda place, 4th Ave norte, corner of 3rd calle, someone’s gonna take another shot at the space to the left of the Ocelot and Minga, going up against Pollo Compero, across the street. And what was the Tacocontento place? still vacant…is it because of the size of the space? there seems to be a trend to break up the larger spaces into mini-malls, like Fusion did a while back: slice up the rent $$ into reasonable portions.
looks like Ocelot’s latest, the Taco Cart, is working..another cheap/great idea.
Seth Montfort, the pianist, back playing at Panza Verde, as is Nelson
Lunding. Bistro Bourbon, going the native food route, a la Los Tres Tiempos, and even they are trying the 2 for 1 thing…have you seen the signs saying don’t pay to have your car watched? didn’t work so well saturday night at the Casa Blanca fashion show…someone came out later to find/not find their car…Exit Inn? getting bigger crowds (its the music).
I get the online version of Costa Rica’s Tico Times and I’m usually amazed at that country’s style…hell, they even have vehicle inspections! and again, thank you for the great response to the latest book, Ponzi Bob and the River of Scum…probably won’t have a local print edition for a while but….go to http://www.amazon.com/author/michaelsherer and let it fly ($$)that is…$5.99 and so? Friday it is, on my calendar…go play in the streets tonight.
