so….yet another new restaurant, on the 5th calle ‘strip’…mid block, what was there before, Los Olivas? a chinese joint now, One Hung Low…nah just kidding….Mu Lan, looked good but as I was about to enter, along came Michael Tallon, Antigua’s most notable writer, wit and sage (and survivor of the near death experience last spring) and looking good.
Reilly’s….ripping out
and the saga of the soon to be gone Jardin Bavaria? the lease expires at the end of the this month, the daughter/heir in the States wants to sell and the little American Legion library next door needs a new home, pronto…there’s a bit of rent to be made, btw + a free year’s membership and with some 40000+ books, well….Bill Shetz is the contact, americanlegion2@gmail….please!
and no, I don’t know what’s going internally at the Snug or Travel Menu…different answers except the common thread is that the landlord wants them gone.
EcoFiltro’s free drinking water stations around town! great idea! good marketing, etc and yes, the San Martin bakery chain/location is doing just fine…pulling in a decent crowd all the time….can anyone tell me who pays for renovation before a new business goes in?….case in point, the new location of Mamma’s on 5th Ave, next to Reillys’ ripping out the stuffing from the rafters/roof on down. I can understand that any ‘tenant improvements’ after possession are paid by the lessee, A la Taberna…and I’m told that Reilly’s is gonna have some major internal changes, structurally speaking..
